Comedian and author David Walliams dropped by publishing house.

David Walliams

Prolific writer for children and TV personality David Walliams has parted ways with his publisher HarperCollins UK, according to an announcement.

An official for the publisher commented: "Following a thorough review, and with the guidance of its fresh leadership, HarperCollins UK has chosen to cease publishing any new titles by David Walliams."

Reports indicate that the move was reached following an inquiry regarding allegations of questionable actions involving female individuals.

The company has not elaborated on the reasons for its decision, noting: "We do not comment on internal matters."

A Prolific Literary Career

Walliams ranks among Britain's most successful children's authors, having sold over six tens of millions of copies globally in five dozen languages.

His inaugural foray into kids' literature, *The Boy in the Dress*, came out under HarperCollins back in 2008.

Several of his titles, for example *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have subsequently been turned into TV movies.

To date, he has released in excess of 40 works combined, encompassing a festive story titled *Santa & Son*, which was published by HarperCollins in October.

Television and Literature

He first rose to fame on the broadcast sketch program *Little Britain* and has been honored with National Television Awards for his role as a panelist on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He received an OBE back in 2017 honoring his contributions to charity and the arts.

This development follows the naming of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's new chief executive last fall.
