This young athlete maintains impressive social media following
Kai Trump will have numerous prominent supporters when she starts her LPGA debut on Thursday.
The 18-year-old athlete, who happens to be connected to Donald Trump, received a sponsor's invitation to compete at the Annika tournament in the Sunshine State.
The former president, an avid golfer, possesses several golf courses and regularly matches against Kai.
"He's fairly competent. I shouldn't elaborate but we play competitive games," she revealed.
The golfer shared that her grandfather, unable to come, advised her: "Simply avoid anxiety."
"He essentially suggested to go out there and have fun," she continued.
"From my perspective, he's simply an ordinary family member. He won't be there this weekend. He's focused on world affairs, making him somewhat preoccupied."
Being non-professional, Kai has played in just three tournaments in 2024 and has position 461 in AJGA standings.
But she can receive tips from golf legend, in a relationship with her mother.
"He stands as the best player in the world," Kai stated.
"Additionally, he's an even better human being. He suggested me to play, relax, and go with the flow."
The golfer will compete against some of most prominent players in the sport at the competition, including world number two Nelly Korda, British Charley Hull, professional Thompson and last year's winner Lilia Vu.
The LPGA mentioned that involving Kai helps introduce golf to wider groups, particularly among younger fans.
Kai has a massive following and just introduced her own fashion and living brand.
She begins at 17:30 GMT.
